Huma Ahmed is the City Clerk for Beverly Hills.
Reporting directly to the City Council, Huma leads a team responsible for maintaining the City's legislative history; ensuring compliance with the political reform act; preparing the legislative agendas and minutes; attending City Council Meetings; and administering the City's records management program. As City Clerk, she also serves as the Elections Official for the City of Beverly Hills.
Huma began her career with the City of Beverly Hills in 2007 as Community Outreach Coordinator and progressed to Community Outreach Manager. Over the years, she has directed communications campaigns, served as the City’s Ombudsman, and coordinated various Mayoral and Council initiatives including the City’s Summer and Holiday BOLD (Businesses Open Later Days) marketing programs. She has extensive experience in outreach and engagement with both the residential and business communities of Beverly Hills.
Huma earned her Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California. She has also obtained dual degrees from Syracuse University at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs with a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) and an Executive Masters of Public Administration (EMPA) along with a certificate of Advanced Study in Conflict Resolution (CAS). She has also received her certification as a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) and is a member of the City Clerk's Association of California (CCAC).
